Lifting Certification
Ensure the safety and reliability of your lifting equipment and compliance with statutory requirements.

When it comes to Inspection and Certification of lifting equipment inspection for Legislative or Health and Safety reasons, FGI is one of the few companies fully accredited by A2LA.

The onshore and offshore services provided by FGI include:

  • Training
  • Load Testing
  • Written Schemes of Examination
  • Periodic Inspections and Re-Certification
  • Design Review and Calculations
  • Verification of Commissioning Procedures and witness Commissioning test
  • Design and review of lift plans for critical and heavy lifts
  • Manufacturing Certification and Inspection
  • Supervision of critical lifts, supply of critical lift supervision

Inspections performed by FGI are done in accordance with the local country statutory regulations, as well as the international regulations such as The Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations (LOLER) in the UK. Generally, all premises and work situations that are subject to local Health & Safety Laws need to comply with these regulations.

These regulations are primarily in place for lifting equipment such as lifts, cranes, and hoists. However, they may also cover other equipment such as hooks, chains, eye bolts, shackles, slings, and wire ropes.

We advise you on the inspection requirements after reviewing your equipment specifications. If you don’t need to comply with any local legislation, then we can help you assess the equipment inspection requirements which include periodicity. We can assist you by using best practice and international codes and standards.

Full equipment assessments can be performed by FGI. On completion of the assessment, an electronic management control system tracks and monitors each item for its inspection status prior to the implementation of the certification. Generally, this is done with the help of an electronic tagging system that can be customized according to the need of the client.

Additionally, a color-coded tagging system can be implemented by FGI. This tagging system is changed on a periodic basis according to the inspection regime. The purpose of this is to make it easy to identify and place the equipment with out-of-date inspection and certification into quarantine until the completion of the inspection and certification.

Since FGI is a full member of the Lifting Equipment Engineers Association (LEEA), it ensures the provision of high-level quality inspection service. Additionally, all surveyors of FGI are LEEA engineers.
